Ossip Zadkine is de maker van een van de bekendste standbeelden 'De verwoeste stad' in Rotterdam. Hij maakte dit beeld naar aanleiding van het bombardement op Rotterdam op 14 mei 1940. De stad werd toen een kwartier lang gebombardeerd en dit verwoestte bijna de hele stad. Op 15 mei 1953 werd het monument gepresenteerd aan de Leuvehaven.

Het beeld van Rigardus Rijnhout, ook wel bekend als de Reus van Rotterdam. Rigardus was maar liefst 2 meter en 38 centimeter lang, woog 230 kilo en had schoenmaat 62. Om hem te eren, heeft de stichting 'De Reus van Rotterdam' in 2011 een standbeeld laten maken door Herman Lamers, op ware grootte.
