Santa Cruz is bordered by the Jardines de Murillo, the Real Alcázar, Calle Mateos Gago, and Calle Santa María La Blanca/San José. The neighbourhood is the location of many of Seville's oldest churches.

Plaza de Santa Cruz is on the site of the old Church of Santa Cruz, situated in the city of Seville. This temple was expropriated and knocked down in 1810 by the French occupation government as part of a plan to redevelop of the city, creating the open space of the current square.
