1. Introduction. Wollemia nobilis W. G. Jones, K. D. Hill and J. M Allen, 1995, (Wollemi pine) is a monotopic genus placed in the conifer family Araucariaceae, together with Agathis Salisbury 1807 and Araucaria de Jussieu 1797, after its discovery in 1994 (reported in Jones et al., 1995).Today it is known from one locality with fewer than 100 trees, and is endemic to a canyon system in Wollemi.
